POSITION VACANT 

 

Allied Health Worker – WHOS Sunshine Coast

 

We Help Ourselves (WHOS®) is one of the premier alcohol and other drugs (AOD) NGO treatment providers in Australia. We offer a wide range of evidence-based therapeutic and support programs and services to benefit clients with problematic substance use and associated issues. 

 

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, innovative, and motivated person to join our Sunshine Coast services, based on the Queensland Sunshine Coast.

 

The successful applicant will have an advanced understanding of a variety of health and community service practice and agencies. With existing, or the ability to build, networks that will support the achievement of the goals for the position, across a variety of areas such as general health, mental health, disability, homelessness, unemployment, family support services. 

 

Position requirements: 

  1. Qualifications in AOD, social science, health, allied health, or related field.
  2. Experience working with people with AOD and mental health conditions.
  3. Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with a range of health, allied health and community service providers. 
  4. Knowledge of local and intrastate AOD, mental health and community service networks.
  5. Knowledge of Harm Reduction approaches available within the AOD sector.
  6. High level of interpersonal skills including the ability to network, consult and negotiate with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  7. Demonstrated ability to deal with challenging situations and behaviours.
  8. Current drivers’ licence.

 

The role requires a person with experience in

Building and maintaining service level arrangements with a variety of providers to support two-way referral pathways.

Strong administration and written communication skills.

Ability to work strategically with key internal and external stakeholders to maximise access to and the use of community-based resources for WHOS clients. 

 

Remuneration: 

SCHADSI Award 

Salary packaging available.

Please note this position is offered on a fixed term contract basis subject to continuation of funding.
