The opportunity:
Northern Health is establishing its own entry level training program for Allied Health Mental Health clinicians. This an exciting time, as it will provide the opportunity for us to tailor the ELP program to meet the needs of our entry level/transition clinicians, provide flexibility to adapt the program as required and to enable the opportunity to explore partnerships with our existing Allied Health education programs.
- We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist or Social Work Educator to coordinate the Northern Health Entry Level Program
- The position will be based at Bundoora Centre, Broadmeadows Hospital or Northern Hospital Epping, with the possibility of some WFH. All NH Educators will be required to work across all three campuses.
- Part time at 0.42EFT (4 days per fortnight – Coordinator) or;
- Part time 0.9 EFT (0.4 EFT Coordinator and 0.5EFT OT Educator)
In this role, you will:
- Have the opportunity to join one of the largest metropolitan mental health services
- Work with a team of very experienced and committed Mental Health discipline Chiefs and Leaders who have a wealth of accumulated experience in undertaking the work associated with the implementation and support of clinical educator roles and who have strong program-level structures to support the work of clinical educators
- Have the opportunity to use your experience and knowledge to develop and implement the ELP program at Northern Health and ensure that it is tailored to meet the needs of our growing ELP workforce
- Be pivotal in assisting to determine the key aspects of the program that are essential for the learning and development of our ELPs and also identify opportunities to further develop the program
- Work across adult and older adults’ programs.

To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience and good working knowledge of Occupational Therapy or Social Work practice in Mental Health, across the continuum of care
- A passion for teaching and a commitment to the development of NH’s future workforce
- Proven ability to engage with new graduate therapists and support their learning and development
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders
- Experience with the evaluation of learning programs
