AOD Assessment Practitioner The Salvation Army

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are currently looking for a passionate and values-driven AOD Assessment Practitioner in Highgate!

The role you could play
In this role you will be providing comprehensive initial assessments to all clients accessing services through Alcohol and Other Drug Services Western Australia. The position will also be responsible for ensuring smooth referral pathways and co-facilitating in education groups as and when required.

In this role, your key responsibilities would be

  • Establish effective relationships are established with clients that encourage self-determination and participation
  • Ensure ongoing assessment is made of client’s issues, needs and circumstances from initial assessment through to entry into serviceAssist clients to access support services and establish community supports, and where needed, are assisted through advocacy with service providers
  • Identify risks to clients, staff and TSA and bring these to the attention of the Bridge House Manager as soon as possible
  • Identify service gaps are and make recommendations for service delivery improvements to the Bridge House Manage

This is a max-term (12 month contract), full-time position, located in Highgate, WA. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Level 5 Award.

What you will bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, AOD counselling, Psychology or related disciplines
  • A degree qualification is strongly preferred
  • Motivational interviewing training and experience
  • Clinical Handover experience
  • Knowledge and experience in the alcohol and other drug (AOD) sector is essential
  • Current WA Drivers licence
