About the business

 

Oolong House was established in 1989 as a Residential Treatment Service for both Indigenous and Non-Indigenous men.

Oolong is one of approximately 23 services in NSW that provide a 24 hour residential rehabilitation service and just one of six which are Aboriginal Community Controlled

 

About the role

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with a caseload of up to 21 residents at any time
  • Follow up residents needs and requests
  • Support residents through 16 week program
  • Notify residents of the outcome of their request throughout the program
  • Conduct  and notify residents of their leaves and visit requests
  • Conduct treatment plans with residents upon arrival
  • Liaise with external agencies such as Probation and Parole, NSW Police Service, Solicitors ETC
  • Participate in random room searches
  • Complete case notes accurately and in a timely manner

  • Ability to communicate effectively in a team
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Effective time management skills
  • Demonstrated capacity to work with groups
  • Ability to implement and encourage others to implement all organisational Policies & Procedures
  • Previous experience managing needs of complex clients
  • Previous experience working with people with problems related to Alcohol and Other Drugs and Mental Illness
  • Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs or willingness to obtain
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence
