Aboriginal Sobriety Group Indigenous Corporation (ASG) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Corporation that values the practice and determinations of Aboriginal culture; customs and tradition. ASG are looking for a qualified and dedicated AOD Counsellor who has experience in both counselling and case management to join our Outreach Services Team.
The primary role of the AOD Counsellor
- Provide personal, social support and counselling to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and CALD
- Assist clients to access services including but not limited to appropriate health services to maximise treatment through effective case management and counselling.
- Assess and support the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and CALD clients wishing to seek access to AOD programs using a holistic framework in line with the appropriate communication channels
- In accordance to individual needs assessment, work with clients including referring clients to health and social and emotional wellbeing services and supports to optimise client outcomes in areas of improved health and wellbeing.
Achieve positive outcomes for clients through effective case management and Counselling support
All Candidates must have the following:-
- Diploma of Counselling or working towards
- Certificate IV in Alcohol and other Drugs or relevant experience
- Current Vulnerable Person Clearance
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current Child Safe Environment Certificate
- Evidence of being fully vaccinated
- Current SA Drivers License
