The newly completed Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs (MHAOD) Hub at Sunshine Hospital Emergency Department has resulted in new opportunities for skilled individuals to join our service and drive the delivery of superior clinical care to these populations.
About The Position
As the AOD Outreach Clinician your responsibilities will include:
- Providing timely and effective post-discharge support for individuals who present to Sunshine Hospital emergency services with AOD care concerns (up to 28 days)
- Linking consumers into appropriate community health and welfare services, including addiction treatment services
- Reducing the likelihood of representations to ED and admissions to inpatient services
- Improving collaboration across the medical, allied health, mental health and AOD streams for emergency services consumers.
About You
As an experienced clinician in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant profession
- A passion for providing safe and modern care to drug and alcohol clients
- Previous acute experience working with complex AOD, medical and mental health presentations
- Sound knowledge and understanding of screening, assessment and community-based treatment options for patients presenting with AOD, mental health and medical complexity.
