The Bridge Program provides a holistic stepped care approach to treatment and offers clients choice of residential rehabilitation, day programs and outreach services. The structured program (Residential and Day) operates for 4-10 weeks and includes bio psycho-educational groups, case management, a range of evidence based therapies and modalities of treatment that include:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Mindfulness
  • Motivational Interviewing (MI)
  • Relapse Prevention
  • Harm Minimisation

Why this role matters
We are seeking a values driven AOD Specialist to work with individuals who are experiencing problematic substance use and implement treatment plans that promote recovery.

This position will provide case management support to clients throughout their treatment at the Bridge program and includes the following:

  • Working with clients with problematic substance use to facilitate a treatment plan.
  • Provide a range of treatment modalities to support client goals.
  • Working as part of a team along with Case Managers and other professional workers to achieve the best outcomes for clients

This is a max term part time position (22.8 hours per week) to 23 June 2023. Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award, Level 5.

What we’re looking for

  • Diploma qualification in relevant field e.g. AOD and Mental Health or related field and relevant experience in a social service environment.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of AOD sector including role, context, principles, philosophies, policies, regulations and legislation
  • Understands and applies AOD models, approaches, theories and practices when dealing with clients
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the impacts of addiction upon individuals, couples, families and wider communities
  • Ability to understand and respond to the needs of individuals experiencing AOD issues
  • Ability to facilitate therapeutic groups to provide bio-psycho-social education
  • The ability to respond effectively to challenging behaviour and use appropriate strategies to deal with challenging or high risk situations
  • A current TAS Drivers Licence
  • Valid TAS Employee Working with Vulnerable Persons Check
  • Ability to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
