Position Objective
The purpose of the position is to provide professional support within the abstinence and harm minimisation policy framework to deliver services to residential clients and after-care clients who suffer from stimulant abuse syndrome, alcohol abuse syndrome, gambling/work addictions to improve their health and well-being in the short to medium term for sustainable longer-term abstinence.
In this position, you will contribute to the provision of a safe and hospitable environment for clients voluntarily seeking rehabilitation from the acute use of alcohol and/or other drugs (primarily stimulants).
Position Description – Support Worker
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and provide assistance with daily living activities.
- Encourage client participation in program activities.
- Be a friendly ear to clients.
- Provide support and monitoring of clients.
- Assist with day-to-day issues that arise in the facility.
- Record and document incidents as required.
- Some dispute resolution and incident de-escalation.
- Support to Facility Manager and general running of the facility.
- Other general and administrative duties as requested.

Basic Criteria for Employment
All potential staff must meet each of the following criteria:
- Available to work Weekends day/nights
- Hold a current Driver’s License
- Hold a qualification of an AOD Cert 4 or higher
- Hold or have the ability to obtain a current Criminal History Check and Working with Children clearance
- Have current HTLAID001 & HTLAID003 certification
- Unlimited right to work and live in Australia.
