The Role

The Assessment & Response Worker’s role is responsible for providing services directly to women who are experiencing Domestic and/or Family Violence.  The role involves directly responding to clients who present in crisis, providing immediate support to clients requiring risk assessment, safety intervention and planning as well as urgent referrals and supportive monitoring and follow up. You will work collaboratively with team members and other agencies and organisations to develop appropriate and innovative responses to prevent violence within the Logan and/or Redlands Community.  

 

Salary and Benefits

  • SCHADS Level 5.1 ($47.50p/h) | Full-Time (38 Hours Per Week) | $93860 annually
  • Contract dates immediate start until the end of June 2023

  • Salary Packaging up to $15,900 (superannuation can be paid in addition to this, subject to any ATO limit if any).

Qualifications

Essential – Tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, or human services (alongside relevant experience) received from a recognised university.

Preferred – Postgraduate qualification in counselling or social work. 

 

Experience

Essential – Demonstrated experience and comprehensive knowledge of Domestic and Family Violence, and its effect on women, children and the wider community and demonstrated understanding of and experience working within current legislation (Domestic and Family Violence Act 2012).   

Preferred – Demonstrated experience and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.   

 

Selection Criteria (Mandatory in Application)

  1. A comprehensive knowledge of Domestic and Family Violence, and its effect on women, children and the wider community and demonstrated understanding of and experience working within current legislation (Domestic and Family Violence Act 2012).  
  2. Capacity to effectively and appropriately engage with women and children who have experienced Domestic and/or Family Violence. This includes experience working with women in crisis, understanding and identifying high risk factors, assessing risk, and safety planning accordingly.    
  3. Experience and a comprehensive understanding of the cultural considerations required when working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse women/families.    
  4. Experience working collaboratively with other agencies (both government and non-government).  
  5. Demonstrated knowledge of current evidence-based therapeutic interventions in individual, family and group settings.  
  6. Excellent written and oral skills, including demonstrated ability to write and present clearly and concisely for other professionals and clients.
