JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Part time 22.8 hours p/w, fixed term until 30/06/2024 
  • Parkville location, with multiple public transport options available  
  • $66,180 – $103,792 salary/range (pro-rata for part time) + salary packaging + super + 5 weeks annual leave

About The Clinical Genetics and Public Fertility Services

The Clinical Genetics Service provides genetic counselling, genetic and genomic testing to individuals with, or at risk of, genetic conditions who are referred to The Women’s and the Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s (Joan Kirner) Hospitals. 

The Women’s Public Fertility Services (PFS) offers high-quality, safe and value-based care that is inclusive and culturally safe and improves access to fertility services for Victorians.

About the role

Reporting to the Genetic Services Manager, this position provides genetic input and support to the PFS at The Women’s. Working in conjunction with a Clinical Geneticist and Genetic Counsellor this will include provision genetic counselling to PFS patients and potential donors to the public donor registry.

A regular day will see you:

  • Review of family history questionnaires for the donor registry with recommendations regarding familial risks for disease based on information provided, and follow up required.
  • Provision of quality genetic counselling services to patients and donors.
  • Ensure there is effective communication with patients and other members of the PFS team

About you

You will be an enthisiatic Associate Genetic counselling with an interest in participating in this newly developed service at The Women’s

You’ll bring with you:

  • Qualification Genetics counselling from an HGSA accredited program
  • Current registartion with HGSA
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of genetic counselling, including medical, genetic and psychosocial aspects
  • Previous expereince in the field of Genetic counselling
