Men’s Behaviour Change Facilitator + Court Support Worker (Male Identifying)

The Role 

The primary role of the Men’s Change Behaviour Program Facilitator (Male Identifying) aspect of the role is to co-facilitate and deliver a Men’s Change Behaviour Program; Responsible Men. The Men’s Program Facilitator will oversee aspects of the delivery including the assessment and intake of program participants and working alongside the female facilitator.  

The court support component of the position will provide support to men who have court proceedings before a Magistrates Court in relation to domestic and family violence matters. The role provides a response to risk safety and wellbeing through information, advocacy, in-Court support and referral to the services and agencies to meet needs. In addition, Court support provide assistance to University Students doing intern/placement as part of their Working Integrated Learning Plan.  

 

Salary and Benefits 

  • SCHADS Level 5.1 ($47.50p/h) | Full-Time (38 Hours Per Week) | $93860 annually 
  • Immediate start until June 30 2026

Experience and Qualifications 

Essential Tertiary Qualifications 

Tertiary qualification in counselling, social work, psychology, or human services (alongside relevant experience) received from a recognised university  

Preferred Tertiary Qualifications  

Certification specific to men’s behaviour change or professional development specific to this field   

Essential Experience 

Demonstrated experience in facilitating groups and working with complex and challenging presentation and dynamics  

Preferred Experience 

Experience in planning, facilitating and evaluating group work and psycho-education, specifically in relation to DFV and Men’s Change Behaviour Programs.  

 

Selection Criteria (Mandatory in Application)

  1. Demonstrated experience in working with persons using or experiencing violence, and experience in risk assessment and management practices.     
  2. Demonstrated experience, or ability to undertake and facilitate perpetrator intervention group programs with mandated and non-mandated male offenders.    
  3. Knowledge and experience of the complex issues affecting women and children who have experienced domestic and family violence – from a feminist framework and understanding of gendered violence.
