About the Role
This is an opportunity to provide quality Behaviour Practitioner services across Bundaberg and the Fraser Coast as part of our Improved Relationships Team – a transdisciplinary team specialising in challenging and complex behaviour. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other behaviour practitioners experienced in delivering community based services.
Core Duties
The Improved Relationships team does just that – it is a transdisciplinary team that works with individuals, their families, support teams and networks to improve how they communicate, understand and relate with the people that are important to them. This can span providing one-on-one therapeutic services in areas such as anger management through to intensive behaviour support including the authorised use of Restrictive Practices.
The organisation’s Improved Relationships Team operates as part of the Allied Health Centre. Your role will include:
- Assessment, clinical formulation, plan development and implementation of Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
- Recommendations and guidance to teams and individuals in crisis.
- Direct therapeutic intervention personalised to individual needs.
- Collaborate effectively with your colleagues, clients and their support networks to contribute to quality service provision and effective outcomes
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of governance systems, including identifying and addressing risks.
- Professionally represent CLS in all interactions and in line with CLS’s Values and Code of Conduct.
Mandatory Requirements
- Qualification in a relevant Allied Health Profession (e.g. Social Work, Speech and Language Therapy, Psychology, Occupational Therapy) and/or demonstrated ability to operate at the Core Practitioner Level (as per the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Behaviour Support Capability Framework).
- Experience in a Disability setting.
- This position involves manual tasks and assistance. Applicants will be expected to cope with the physical demands of this position and must be willing to undertake pre-screening activities prior to employment.
- There will be the requirement for travel within Wide Bay & Fraser Coast Region.
- Current Driver’s Licence (C-class).
- Applied First Aid (or ability to acquire).
- Working with Children Blue Card (or ability to acquire).
- Disability Positive Notice Yellow Card or NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to acquire).
- Ability to navigate, apply and adhere to CLS policies and procedures, including Workplace Health and Safety and Risk Management Procedures.
Desirable
- Experience working in a Positive Behaviour Support approach
- New grad with a demonstrated passion.
- Experience with and/or knowledge of Restrictive Practices requirements (both state and federal)
- Working knowledge of the NDIS
