Australian National Lifestyle Assist (ANLA) is a national private consultancy operating out of Brisbane with participants across Southeast Queensland, including but not limited to Brisbane’s North, South and Western suburbs, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast as well as Ipswich and Toowoomba. About the role
Australian National Lifestyle Assist (ANLA) is seeking a highly skilled and passionate individual to join our team as a Behaviour Support Practitioner. In this role, you will be responsible for undertaking various tasks related to the assessment, development, consultation, implementation, and ongoing management of Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs) and associated documentation. You will work with participants subject to the Restrictive Practices provisions of the Disability Services legislation and Care, NDIS legislation, as well as Behaviour Support Plans for children and young people under Child Protection Orders, and Individual Personal Plans (IPPs) for adult participants with a disability.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs) and associated documentation.
- Provide consultation and implement PBSPs for participants under restrictive practice provisions.
- Collaborate with participants, their families, service providers, and government agencies.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and practices in disability care, forensic disability, child protection, aged care, youth justice, and health care.
- Maintain high-level computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and other systems.
- Prepare high-quality reports within specified deadlines.
- Work effectively within a fast-paced organization.
- Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously and take ownership of a caseload of participants.
- Promote a positive and constructive environment for participants and their families.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor degree (or higher) in Psychology, Health Science, Behavioural Science, Education, or another related field
- Preferable experience in Psychology, Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, or other Allied Health areas
- Pre-existing registration as a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner with the NDIS Commissioner (preferred)
- At least 5 years’ experience working in Disability, Child Protection, or within a positive behavioural framework
- Demonstrated ability to interact with participants, their families and service providers
- Demonstrated knowledge of legislation
- Ability to work to productivity targets
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment as well as autonomously and take ownership of a caseload of participants
- All the other stuff – Blue Card, NDIS Worker Screening, First Aid & CPR, etc.
