The opportunity
As part of our growth plans, we are seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and “like minded” people to join our team of Behaviour Support Practitioners. In this role, you will be accountable for delivering:
- A safe, caring and supportive environment for people to discuss their concerns and actively participate in the positive behaviour support process;
- Thorough and personalised functional behaviour assessments and comprehensive behaviour support plans in a timely manner;
- Practical strategies to positively influence behaviour change and deliver improved quality of life outcomes;
- Services in accordance with legislative requirements and company policy and procedures including actions to continuously improve such processes;
- Training materials (including development) to a broad cross section of stakeholders including support workers, families, and carers; and
- Timely and professional response to behavioural incidents in accordance with industry standards and company policy including the safeguarding obligations.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in education, psychology, social work, occupational therapy, or associated field;
- Registration as an NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner at Proficient level or above;
- Extensive knowledge of positive behaviour support including the legislative framework and providing support from a social model of disability,
- A proven track record of working from a systems perspective to empower families and carers as evidenced in a deidentified copy of a comprehensive behaviour support plan; and
- Relevant clearances and certificates to work in the NDIS field.
