As an allied health provider, we offer support and services to our clients either in a home environment, in a school/kindergarten setting or in our therapy rooms located in Payneham, just 10 minutes east of the CBD.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our multi-disciplinary team. 

As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in assessing, developing, and implementing behaviour support plans for individuals living with a disability accessing funding through the National Disability Insurance Scheme.  

Your knowledge and expertise will contribute to the overall well-being and growth of our clients, fostering an environment that promotes independence, dignity, and inclusivity. 

 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Conduct thorough assessments of individuals’ behavioural needs
  • Evaluating, developing, and delivering evidence-based support plans
  • Developing meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising a positive behaviour support framework, and with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices where possible 
  • Build the knowledge, capacity, and strengths of those who support participants in their lives, family, carers, friends, support teams etc.
  • Regularly monitor and review behaviour support plans, making necessary adjustments for optimal outcomes
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records in accordance with NDIS guidelines and organisational policies 
  • Stay informed about best practices, NDIS policies, and industry trends related to behaviour support

 

About you 

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related allied health field 
  • Minimum two years’ experience in behaviour support within the NDIS framework 
  • Knowledge of NDIS policies and procedures 
  • Exceptional communication skills both verbally and written 
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills 
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • A genuine passion for working with and support people living with a disability
