Position Overview:
Focus Behaviour Interventions is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner (BSP) to join our growing team. As a BSP, you will play a critical role in providing behavioural assessment and intervention services to individuals with behavioural challenges and help our clients achieve meaningful and positive changes in their lives.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct Functional Behavioural Assessments:
- Utilize a variety of assessment tools and techniques to evaluate and analyze clients’ behaviour and identify underlying factors and triggers.
Develop Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs):
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create individualized behaviour support plans tailored to each client’s unique needs.
Data Collection and Analysis:
- Implement data collection methods to monitor client progress and behavior patterns over time.
- Analyze data to make informed decisions and adjust interventions as necessary.
Behavior Modification:
- Implement evidence-based interventions and behavior modification strategies to promote positive behavior change.
- Train clients, caregivers, and support staff on effective behavior management techniques.
Progress Monitoring:
- Regularly review and update BSPs based on observed progress and client needs.
Consultation and Communication:
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic and coordinated approach to intervention.
- Provide clear and concise feedback and progress reports to stakeholders.
Stay Current with Research:
- Keep up to date with the latest research and best practices in the field of behaviour analysis and intervention.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure that all interventions and assessments comply with relevant regulations and ethical standards.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of client interactions and progress.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience supporting people with behaviours
- A strong track record of conducting assessments and developing BSPs.
- Minimum cert IV in disability or related field.
- Current Police Check
- Current Working with Childrens card
- Proven expertise in data analysis.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and collaborate effectively with clients, caregivers, and colleagues.
- Understanding of ethical standards and legal regulations in the field of behavior analysis.
