About the Role
This permanent full-time (or part-time) role provides the opportunity for practitioners to receive clinical supervision in providing positive behaviour support. This role will be provided high quality training and ongoing supervision for practitioners to work towards and maintain professional certifications with the Behaviour Analysis Certification Board (BACB) and/or Association for Behaviour Analysis Australia (ABAA – CBA, CBA-U, Professional Memberships).
The role will involve providing professional information and advice to autistic individuals, their families, staff, and managers regarding evidence-based approaches to reducing the impact of complex behavior across Melbourne and involves working within a multidisciplinary team of professionals. This position will also provide coaching, modelling, and support to stakeholders (including but not limited to) families, support workers and managers to ensure these groups are competent in the implementation of support strategies and aware of their responsibilities on how to effectively implement the individual’s plan. Additional responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking relevant assessments to identify causal factors of challenging behaviour
- Adhering to internal and external requirements to ensure all relevant legislative and associated guidelines are met
- Implementing and analysing data in order to monitor the plan’s effectiveness, reviewing challenging behaviour and make any changes where required.
About You
Our successful candidate will ideally have an interest in positive behaviour support and an understanding of contemporary applied behaviour analysis practices.
Qualifications:
- One or more of the following:
- Working Towards BCBA (Board Certified Behaviour Analyst) and/or CBA (Certified Behaviour Analyst) Qualification with 12 months practical experience
- BCaBA or CBA-U
- Provisional Psychologist, working towards Professional Membership with the Association for Applied Behaviour Analysis Australia
- Other relevant tertiary qualifications in social work, counselling, or similar area with 12 months practical experience in ABA or PBA, working towards Professional Membership with the Association for Applied Behaviour Analysis Australia
- One of the following:
- Currently hold a NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner Registration of Core or Proficient
- Meet the NDIS Capability Framework Criteria as a Core Practitioner
Experience:
- Have a clear understanding of the PBS Framework with the relevant capability framework registration
- Demonstrated time-management skills to effectively manage workload, maintain case notes, and meet deadlines
- A high level of interpersonal skills including the ability to maintain relationships with customers, service providers, and various stakeholders
- Sound problem solving skills and the ability to work in a flexible environment that at times involves innovative and agile approaches

Additional requirements:
