About the role:

The Behaviour Support Practitioner role will undertake a person-centred approval to behaviour that is focused on improving quality of life and reducing behaviours of concern. The role will work closely with our clients, their families, carers and support networks to develop intervention plans and strategies that allow our clients to live their best life.

This entails a high level of customer service, communication, time management and ability to prioritise.

 

To be successful in this role, you will require the following:

• Administer formal and informal assessments as well as gather relevant data in line with the Positive Behaviour Support Practices and under guidance of senior Behaviour Support Practitioner/s

• Develop Functional Behaviour Assessment (FBA).

• Develop Behaviour Support Plans outlining evidence based strategies to reduce presenting behaviours of concern.

• Training participants, participants families and participants caregivers on implementation of strategies within the Behaviour Support Plan.

• Monitor and review effectiveness of strategies outlined in the Behaviour Support Plan and modify as required.

• Actively participate and contribute to goals orientated outcomes with a team of allied health professionals to ensure a consistent care approach to the participant, their family’s and caregiver/s.

• Development of clinical notes, documents, reports and other important information in an easily accessible manner, ensuring that all case files remain up to date

• Report the use of Regulated Restrictive Practice to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission

 

You are:

• Technology literate including Microsoft 365 applications, in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

• highly accountable and take responsibility to deliver outcomes, regardless of obstacles

• a creative problem solver who exudes initiative and delivers outcomes.

• Able to demonstrate a sound understanding of the NDIS and disability issues in the Australian context.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including both written and verbal.

• Awareness of providers within the local geographic region for NDIS support.

• Clinical note and report writing experience.

  • NDIS PBSP registration
