Remuneration Package $80,000 – $120, 000 (including salary $65, 000 – $110, 000). This position is open to new graduates or established OT’s.

This role is designed for a candidate who is an Occupational Therapist with an interest in behaviour support who may wish to develop their occupational therapy skills and behaviour support knowledge. Furthermore, the role is designed to strengthen the multi-disciplinary expertise across the team of behaviour practitioners.

Our Team is committed to supporting people living with a disability to access services that maximise opportunities for participation, reduce the need to use behaviours of concern, and improve quality of life.  

You will provide high-level quality behaviour support and occupational therapy services to NDIS participants with behaviours of concern as well as their family and support networks to improve their quality of life. You will use your occupational therapy skills to assess functional abilities and develop therapeutic interventions to participants with complex needs.   

Essential 

  • Recognised degree in Occupational Therapy and eligibility for registration with AHPRA. 
  • Capacity to deliver occupational therapy services and work collaboratively and strategically with other providers to achieve positive participant and service outcomes. 
  • Ability to undertake functional and clinical assessments including but not limited to undertaking positive behaviour assessments to people who display behaviour of concern.  
  • Working knowledge of restrictive practices and an ability to design plans that aim to reduce and eliminate the practice in accordance with relevant legislation and frameworks.  
  • Working knowledge and experience in delivering contemporary positive behaviour support practices, which enable the development and implementation of evidence based, person centred, positive behaviour support plans.  
  • Ability to provide training and professional development to professional and non-professional staff in your field of expertise.  
  • NT Drivers licence or the ability to obtain.  

 

Desirable 

  • Post graduate study in relevant field related to occupational therapy, the science of behaviour or other relevant field.
