Position Purpose

Reporting to the Regional Clinical Manager, the Behaviour Support Practitioner will play an imperative role in conducting assessments, writing behavioural support plans and programs. The Behaviour Support Practitioner will assist with implementing plans and supervision of Behaviour Therapists. The work is based on Applied Behaviour Analysis and Positive Behaviour Support principles for children and adults in the home, community, and school/workplace settings.

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop Functional Behavioural Assessments and Behaviour Analysis Support Plans
  • Provide direct behavioural interventions in individual and group sessions after assessment and diagnosis 
  • Provide training, support and clinical supervision of Behaviour Support Practitioners/Behaviour Therapists
  • Use behavioural, psychological and evidence-based theories to develop and implement program designs and interventions
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with all key stakeholders
  • Adhere to NDIS quality and safeguard commission requirements

 

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree or postgraduate qualifications related to Positive Behaviour Support e.g. Psychology
  • Minimum of three years’ experience demonstrating provision of positive behaviour support services
  • Demonstrated and practical time management skills including the ability to manage multiple competing priorities set in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of oral and written communication skills including the demonstrated ability to prepare and finalise technical reports
  • Compliance checks including the NDIS Workers Screening Check, NDIS Practitioner ID, NDIS Self-Assessment, National Criminal History Check and any relevant State-issued WWCC/WWVP cards
  • COVID19 Vaccination Digital Certificate, inclusive of mandated booster vaccinations as directed by State Government and NDIS mandates
  • Valid Driver Licence
