Qualifications & experience
- Registered NDIS behaviour support practitioner (requirements met), minimum 12 months experience delivering positive behaviour support services. Applications will be considered for PBS experience (eg. school wide PBS implementation ) and no NDIS practitioner registration.
- Minimum 4 year tertiary studies in Disability, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology or Education. Preferred but not essential – post graduate study in Disabiltiy, Positive Behaviour Support or Applied Behaviour Analysis.
- Have an understanding of Positive Behaviour Support principles and values. Have authentic listening, engagement and empowerment skills. Have great analytical skills and highly effective communication skills.
- Membership with relevant professional bodies and insurance associated with qualifications
- Successful candidates will need to have, or obtain prior to commencing, NDIS worker screening, police check, WWCC, drivers license, first aid and CPR.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Meeting legislative requirements of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (Restrictive Practices and Behaviour Support) Rules 2018.
- Complete Functional Behaviour Assessments for people who live with a range of disabilities, disorders, mental health conditions and trauma.
- Develop, implement and monitor; person centred, strengths based and effective Behaviour Support Plans, including interim response safety measures. Consultation, training and skill building related to BSP implementation.
- Office based role with service delivery in person, in office, via telehealth, travel required. Service delivery tailored to participant’s needs, assessment process and BSP implementation priorities.
- Adhere to organisation policies and procedures, maintain accurate record keeping.
Engage in clinical supervision and professional development that aligns with organisation priorities. - Working as part of a team with ability to work independently. Prioritise self management, wellbeing and professional quality of life.
