About this role

  • The role begins on a casual basis for the first 3 months of employment working up to 38 hours then moving over to permanent full time.

Positive Moods provides Positive Behaviour Support and Improved Daily Living to participants between the ages of 6-65 with a wide range of disabilities. The Behaviour Support Practitioner will create relationships with the client and their support teams. The Behaviours support practitioner will provide high-quality, person-centred care. The Behaviour support practitioner will focus on increasing the client’s quality of life and work towards supporting and reaching the client’s goals. The Behaviours Support Practitioner will complete a Functional Behaviours Assessment and develop a high-quality, individualised Positive Behaviours Support Plan. The Behaviour Support Practitioner will provide continuous training and monitoring to the client’s support teams. 

Positive Moods provides work from home, travelling to clients’ locations (approx. 30min distance) providing work-life balance and flexibility. Positive Moods offer weekly group meetings and 1:1 clinical supervision from an internal clinical supervisor. Essential Requirements:

  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Qualification in Psychology, Behaviour Science, Social Work, or related discipline.
  • Professional registrations with the appropriate body. 
  • Ability to meet the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support capability framework at a core level or above.
  • Current driver’s license and own reliable vehicle.
  • National Police Check.
  • Relevant state clearances, e.g., Working with Children’s Check.
  • Previous work experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner (ideal but not essential).
  • Knowledge and understanding of the NDIS (ideal but not essential).
  • Fully vaccinated from COVID-19 or an exemption note (QLD mandate).
