THE TEAM

The Therapy and Behaviour Support Team provides a range of direct and indirect services primarily to individuals and groups accessing NDIS, PSP/OOHC, disability and mental health services.

Central Coast based, some travel to Newcastle on occasion. 

Up to full time (FLEXIBLE) 

THE ROLE

This role fundamentally involves working closely with the people who we support, their families and staff to build personal capacity and enhance quality of life as well as identifying opportunities for growth and development. In addition, and subject to demand, the role may also encompass systems development activities, project work, policy review and elements of training and support.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful you will have:

  • Degree in Social Welfare, Social Work, Psychology or Behavioural Science or equivalent and/ or experience in behaviour assessment and the development of behaviour Support Plans.
  • Meets the requirements of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework) https://www.ndiscommission.gov.au/pbscapabilityframework
     

THE ESSENTIALS

  • Demonstrated capacity to implement the principles and processes related to positive behaviour support, trauma informed care and person-centred thinking
  • Relevant experience in service delivery and management together with developing a range of clinical support plans/protocols
  • Personal drive and initiative and demonstrated capacity in finding creative solutions to complex issues
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery and training and support to individuals, families and groups
  • Ability to build and maintain rapport and positive relationships with individuals, families, groups and teams
  • Demonstrated capacity in the use of MS Office based programs as well as web-based IT platforms
