Qualifications & experience
- Tertiary qualifications in allied health or related discipline (e.g., Psychology, Behavioural Science, Social Work, Education) and / or relevant experience
- Current registration with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission to practice as a Core, Proficient, Specialist or Advanced Behaviour Support Pracitioner
- Ideally 12 months + experience in providing behaviour support services in the NDIS sector
- Experience working with a range of intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Skills and positive attitude in working in a person-centred way to support people with a disability
Tasks & responsibilities
- Working collaboratively with participants, their families and others to help enhance participants’ lives
- Developing positive behaviour support plans and implementing intervention strategies that align with participants’ NDIS Plans
- Conducting comprehensive behaviour assessments
- Identifying, reporting and monitoring restrictive practices
- Supporting skill development through working directly with participants and their caregivers
- Providing behaviour interventions in individual and group settings
- Adherence to NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements
- Being an enthusiastic team member in terms of client service provision and contributing to a positive team and organisational dynamic
