Qualifications & experience

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in allied health or related discipline (e.g., Psychology, Behavioural Science, Social Work, Education) and / or relevant experience
  • Current registration with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission to practice as a Core, Proficient, Specialist or Advanced Behaviour Support Pracitioner
  • Ideally 12 months + experience in providing behaviour support services in the NDIS sector
  • Experience working with a range of intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Skills and positive attitude in working in a person-centred way to support people with a disability

 

 

 

Tasks & responsibilities

 

  • Working collaboratively with participants, their families and others to help enhance participants’ lives
  • Developing positive behaviour support plans and implementing intervention strategies that align with participants’ NDIS Plans
  • Conducting comprehensive behaviour assessments
  • Identifying, reporting and monitoring restrictive practices
  • Supporting skill development through working directly with participants and their caregivers
  • Providing behaviour interventions in individual and group settings
  • Adherence to NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements
  • Being an enthusiastic team member in terms of client service provision and contributing to a positive team and organisational dynamic
