The Organisation

Towards the Horizon Pty Ltd is an emerging NDIS registered provider located in Darwin, Northern Territory, which specialises in Positive Behaviour Supports for NDIS Participants. Our team pride ourselves on our strengths based approach and meeting the individualised needs of each person we meet. We deliver quality, supportive, evidence-based services that are tailored for NDIS participants in Northern Territory.

 

The Role

We are seeking multiple dedicated and driven Behaviour Support Practitioners to join our team and work with NDIS participants in community, such as homes, schools, day programs and remotely. These roles are available for part-time and full-time work. 

You will:

  • Respect participant confidentiality, rights, cultural beliefs and privacy
  • Be responsible for providing our participants with high quality assessments, recommendations, and improving participant outcomes using best evidence-based practice.
  • Complete progress notes and NDIS reports to a high standard, and in a timely manner
  • Establish and maintain outstanding rapport with participants and support coordinators to facilitate a mutually beneficial relationship
  • Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Provide peer supervision to other Behaviour Support Practitioners in the team

Currently, all capability levels for the positive behaviour support capability framework can apply.

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications

  • Passion for delivering high quality care and supports
  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Allied Health, Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapist, Counselling, Psychology,  or similar areas of Social and Behavioural Sciences
  • Minimum 3 months demonstrated experience
  • Knowledge of NDIS requirements, Positive Behaviour Support & Multi -Element Behaviour Support Model
  • Experience with working with Children with ASD
  • Valid police check
  • Valid Australian driver’s license and access to a vehicle (travel allowance to be provided)
  • NDIS worker orientation module
  • NDIS worker screening check
