JOB DESCRIPTION

Full Time NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner to support and enable participants living with a disability to maintain a happy, healthy and independent lifestyle in QLD.
Our client provides therapeutic and everyday living supports to participants living with a disability. Their mission is to build enduring relationships.
With a clinic/office based just outside of Surfers, with the flexibility to work from home and the opportunity for FIFO and Telehealth to assist participants in regional and remote Australia.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide regular support and engage in professional development to junior practitioners
  • Assist in developing and providing induction to new graduates
  • Complete a varied caseload managing a variety of NDIS
  • Work towards below average KPI’s to manage caseload and clinical caseload
  • Responsible for providing efficient, cost-effective and timely delivery of services at participants homes, schools, or in clinic as best suited to the participants needs and your personal preferences.
  • Be an integral part of a dynamic and collaborative team working towards common goals
  • Manage non-clinical time effectively to ensure letters, reports, and phone calls are all completed in a timely and professional manner.
    Design, deliver and evaluate the implementation of multi-element behavioural interventions for the people we support in accordance with current best practice, in line with clients own goals and within the allocated hours of their NDIS plan.
  • Develop, implement and review behaviour support strategies for families, carers and staff relevant to the behaviours of concern
  • Participate in support planning processes for clients to deliver coordinated, effective service provision that meets the goals of the client’s NDIS plan.
  • Maintain client data management records are required.
  • Design, implement and participate in research or other projects as required.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of our clients various Program areas as directed by the Advanced Practitioner

Key Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, young people and adults who have a disability and present with complex challenging behaviours
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the development and implementation of behavioural intervention strategies, risk management strategies and skills development plans
  • Bachelors/Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work or similar
  • Genuine desire to provide the best quality support for people with disabilities.
  • Reliable character
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Confident communicator who can maintain professional boundaries with clients and their families.
  • Knowledge of NDIS practice standards and funding model is desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Impeccable time management and multi-tasking abilities
  • Solid computer literacy and capacity to use cloud-based software is essential
  • Ability to travel statewide as required

The following will also be required of successful applicants:

  • Unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Full unrestricted drivers license
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Working with children check (or willing to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Screen (or willing to obtain)
  • COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate or provide medical certificate
