Position Purpose

Behaviour Therapists will be responsible for the crucial role of implementation of the individualised Positive Behaviour Support Programs for clients, reporting back to the Behaviour Support Practitioner. This role requires working with individuals with a disability or complex mental health difficulties and engaging clients in therapy. The work is based on the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis and Positive Behaviour Support for children and adults in the home, community and school/workplace settings. 

Core Responsibilities 

  • Implement the Behaviour Analysis Support Plans provided by the Behaviour Support Practitioner 
  • Provide direct behavioural interventions in individual and group sessions 
  • Engage the client in therapy within the community and their natural environments such as home, school, workplace and day placements
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders
  • Accurate and timely documentation of client sessions, incidents and plans
  • Adhere to NDIS quality and safeguard commission requirements

 

Essential

  • Experienced working with people with a disability or working in mental health, OR Bachelor Degree related to Positive Behaviour Support i.e. Psychology degree.
  • Well developed oral & written communication skills whilst demonstrating ability to work autonomously & in team environments
  • Ability to attain all mandatory compliance checks including the NDIS Workers Screening Check, 
National Criminal History Check and any relevant State-issued WWCC/WWVP cards 

  • Willingness to undertake Registered Behaviour Technician Training Certification within 6 months of 
commencement of employment 

  • COVID19 Vaccination Digital Certificate, inclusive of mandated booster vaccinations as directed by 
State Government and NDIS mandates 
  • Valid Driver License
