An exciting opportunity exists for a Women’s Health Counsellor to join a dynamic team at BreastScreen Northern Sydney / Central Coast.

What you’ll be doing
Providing support and information to women accessing the BreastScreen NSW program from screening through to definitive diagnosis of breast cancer. In addition, the co-ordination of the BreastScreen diagnostic clinics.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
- Must hold as a minimum a bachelor degree in counselling or a related field, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
- A sound understanding of breast disease, breast cancer, and the principles of population based screening.
- A demonstrated understanding of the impact of a diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.
- Proven experience/competency in women’s health and/or breast/oncology nursing counselling would be required.
- Demonstrated experience working with clients in a clinical health setting who are dealing with difficult emotional issues.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of information technology and accurate data entry skills.
