Rural Business Support (RBS) is an independent not for profit organisation committed to assisting businesses, farmers, landowners, and communities in Northern Territory and South Australia in achieving profitability and sustainability.

We are seeking a Business Financial Counsellor to support small businesses and primary producers in the greater Alice Springs area that are facing or at risk of financial hardship. Your main objective will be to help these businesses understand their financial position and develop effective strategies for them to manage their circumstances. 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

• Outstanding problem-solving abilities with an attention to detail.
• Demonstrated empathy and understanding towards clients experiencing financial stress.
• Exceptional communication skills to effectively convey financial information to clients.
• Knowledge of small business and farm finance, banking processes and lending criteria, debt negotiation and mediation processes.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Proficiency in using various computer programs including spreadsheets and financial software.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Diploma of Financial Counselling is desirable. Previous experience in business, finance, banking and consulting will be highly regarded.

This is a full-time opportunity for 12 months.
