About the role: As a Counsellor with us, you get to actively facilitate improved well-being for people aged 12 and above. Our B.well program supports people with mental health concerns who may also be interested in support around the impact of their use of alcohol or other drugs. You will be supporting them to connect with others, focus on their strengths, maintain a healthy lifestyle and lead a fulfilling life. This includes a range of support services including psycho-education, peer support groups, therapeutic programs, individual support, life skills programs, early intervention and  activities programs e.g., yoga, drumming, etc.

 

Hours and location: You will be working 35 hours a week. Hours are flexible and generally Monday to Friday between 9.00am to 4.30pm. RDOs or afternoons off can be negotiated. There is no weekend work. This is a hybrid role with options to work from home when you are not seeing participants face to face.

 

About you: Selection criteria:

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications at Diploma level or higher in areas such as social work/psychology/mental health/counselling
  2. A current and valid manual Driver’s Licence is required. COVID vaccination, a satisfactory current Criminal Record Check and Working with Children Check are mandatory prior to commencement. 
  3. Demonstrated experience in delivering one on one counselling and group facilitation
  4. Demonstrated experience working in a recovery orientated mental health environment coordinating care working with people with complex support needs 
  5. Computer literacy in MS Office, video conferencing applications and a variety of databases.

This role is remunerated with a rate up to $37ph depending on qualifications and experience. (For a 38 hour week, this is a package inc. super of over $81k with access to salary packaging to potentially increase your take home pay by another 5k). The role is funded to March 2023 with potential for extension.
