We are currently seeking a Carer Recruitment and Support worker to recruit new carers for the Permanency Support Program, progress new applicants through initial training and assessment and provide ongoing support through the development of an annual training and event calendar.
The Role
As part of the Client Services Group of MCCG, the Permanency Support Program provides a range of services in relation to children, young people and families that include family preservation support, restoration, adoption, guardianship and foster care. The Permanency Support Program aims to provide efficient and effective services to clients, NSW Department of Communities and Justice, foster carers and other agencies and families involved in preservation, restoration and other OOHC placements. This service operates across Southern and Western NSW.
Working as an integral member of the Carer Development and Administration Teams, the Carer Recruitment and Support worker will respond to initial enquires from prospective carers via phone and email and provide ongoing support throughout the recruitment process. The position will coordinate ongoing carer training and engagement through regional activities and events.
The successful applicant will work collaboratively with the carer development, case management and administration teams to attract, engage and support carer households.

Ideal person
The ideal person we are looking for has:
- Degree in Social Work, Social Welfare, Psycholgoy or a related discipline, or relevant experience or working towards
- High Level Interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong Organisational and administrative skills
- Capacity to promote the Foster Care Program
- Well developed writing skills and ability to produce comprehensive reports in a timely manner.
- Capacity to manage high workloads with conflicting priorities.
You will also be required to undergo a National Police Check.
To be considered for this role you will be also required to hold:
- a current drivers license,
- a Working with Children Check Clearance and
- a Working with Vulnerable People Card
