Domestic Violence Specialist Worker / Case Manager

We are currently seeking applications from experienced, compassionate, motivated candidates, including newly graduated social workers, to join our small supportive team at Louisa Domestic Violence Service.  We have a permanent position and casual positions available.  Louisa provides support, accommodation, and outreach to women, children and men escaping domestic and family violence

Molonglo Support Services is a not-for-profit community-based organisation providing holistic domestic violence and homelessness support services operating in Queanbeyan and the wider regions for over 40 years

As a Domestic Violence Specialist Worker, you will provide client focused, trauma informed case management or case coordination to support safety and provide advocacy

SELECTION CRITERIA (to address)

  • Minimum Diploma in Community Services, Social Work Degree or similar welfare qualification or working towards or 3+ years’ experience in similar role
  • Demonstrated commitment to the values of Molonglo Support Services and our mission for people to live in a secure and safe environment 
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and independently without direct supervision
  • Ability to engage children, young people and their parents/carers and an understanding of the health and safety requirements in providing services to children
  • Ability to think innovatively and creatively to develop tailored client solutions 
  • Ability to use online case management systems and Microsoft Office programs or the ability to learn
  • Understanding or experience of working in family and domestic violence (desirable)
  • Ability to cover on call (afterhours) for 7 days, one week per month, on a roster basis (allowance provided)
  • Knowledge and/or experience in the following:  Strengths-based case management and coordination, Advocacy, Outreach support, Gender and trauma informed frameworks, Human rights and feminist principles

  • Current Australian driver’s licence
  • NSW Working with Children Check
  • National Police Check
