About the role – Max term contract – varying hours up to Full-time– 1st February until 31st December 2024
In preparation for referrals for our Flexible Learning Options (FLO) program commencing in January / February 2023, we are looking for multiple FLO Case Managers to work with young people disengaging from education. Primarily based at our Salisbury site you will be working in the surrounding areas but must also be willing to travel to the Adelaide Hills. You will work together with families, schools, community groups and businesses to create a holistic support approach to achieve our client’s goals.
Your duties include but not limited to:
- Working with young people to create positive outcomes in accordance with their goals and program objectives
- Managing a case load of up to 25 clients at a time
- Developing and managing case plans for students accessing FLO services
- Liaising with differing service providers such as, education or training facilities, and allied health
- Comprehensive note taking to ensure client files are up to date
About you:
You truly believe in the ability to foster and nurture positive relationships with young people. You are enthusiastic, approachable and have a sound understanding of resources available to young people to support their education, health and personal needs. Having a larger case load of students, you will understand the importance of effectively managing competing priorities, but still dedicate time and detail to ensuring case notes are documented appropriately after all client interactions. In this role, you will champion young people to break down the barriers that are holding them back from achieving SACE completion and engage them in options available for further education.
You will also have the following skills and experience:
- Ability to commence in January/February 2024
- Ability to commit to 3 days per week (days of work can be negotiated)
- Experience working with at risk youth or equivalent experience in community services
- Experience working with young people in a learning centre environment
- The ability to work autonomously, exercise good judgement and prioritise client outcomes.
- Incredible interpersonal skills, prioritising client experience through exercising emotional intelligence
- Ability to deal with sensitive issues with empathy and maintain confidentiality at all times
Specific Requirements:

Essential Qualification requirements
- Cert IV in Youth Work or Youth Justice; or
- Diploma in Youth Work or Youth Justice; or
- Bachelor degree in Social Work or Psychology
In addition, you will be required to have, or be willing to obtain prior to commencing:
- Full unrestricted South Australia Driver’s Licence
- DHS Child-Related Employment Screening or Working With Children check
- National Police Clearance
- Training: Provide First Aid (min HLTAID011)
- Training: Secure Environments for Children and Young People
- Ability to work outside of normal office hours may be required
- Use of own vehicle
