Anglicare’s Children & Families have a long history of providing family and children support services, including family intervention, foster and kinship care, counselling, relationship support and much more. Our Family Intervention Service works to preserve families or assist in reunifying a child with their family after a period of out of home care.
This essential service, based in Underwood, requires an experienced professional to join their team on a full-time 12 month contract basis with possibility of extension. Providing in-home intensive intervention and support service to families where child protection issues have been identified as a significant concern.
About You
As a Case Worker experienced in the child, youth and family sector, you will provide a range of functions requiring the following skills and experience:
- Proven ability to identify practice frameworks that empower clients to build and sustain change in their lives, enabling them to safely care for their children
- Demonstrated experience in delivering family intervention activities within a statutory environment, including knowledge of the Child Protection Act (1999) and amendments.
- Actively engages in building relationships with parents and children to support effective service delivery and best outcomes for children and families
- experience with supporting parents to develop practical skills and knowledge that builds self-determination for them to safely care for their children, improve the safety of the family home environment, build stability and enhance attachment between the child and parent
- Undertaking assessment, planning and delivery of services that are based on the needs of children, and are considerate of both protective and risk factors for the family
- Familiarity with a range of child protection and community-based services
- Proven ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
- Strong computer skills, including MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Overnight travel will be required for this role.
- Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Behavioural Sciences or similar
- A valid Blue Card (Working with Children)
- Current Licensed Care Service (LCS)
- A current Drivers Licence
- Current COVID-19 Vaccination certificate
