About the Position
Case Workers play a vital role in the community services industry to guide and support people who are troubled, vulnerable or living with a disability. The Case Worker works closely with clients and their families to identify needs and help them access services, including training and employment. Case Workers are responsible for providing social work services to clients in need. Primary responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing service plans, and coordinating services. Case Workers must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and advocate on their behalf. They must be well-organised and able to multitask to manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Key Relationships
- Works collaboratively with Anglicare NQ Executives, Managers, Staff and Volunteers.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with Anglicare NQ partners, other Non-Government Organisations (NGO) and local community businesses.
- QLD and Commonwealth Government Departments, e.g. Department of Human Services, Department of Children, Youth Justice and Multicultural Affairs and other government departments as required.
Special Conditions
- Hold a current QLD drivers licence ‘Class C’ or interstate equivalent
- Blue Card (Working with children card)
- Satisfactory Employment Screening Assessment(s) required for this role in line with Anglicare NQ Policy:
– National Policy Check - First Aid/CPR
Out of hours may be required from time to time - Client transportation required and/or client visitation outside of the office required

Selection Criteria
Essential
- Knowledge of statutory requirements, the role, organisational programs, policies and operations
- Sound discipline knowledge with experience, training and education
- Specialist understanding of the principles in the role, such as a Degree with a year experience and / or Associate Diploma experience
- Lesser formal qualifications may be acceptable. However, substantial years of relevant experience would be required.
Highly Regarded
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, families and communities.
- Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
