Case Worker – AOD/Mental Health Blue Care

  • 2 x Full Time Fixed Term Contract for 18 Months
  • Based in Townsville – Stagpole Street Drug & Alcohol Rehabilitation Unit

We’re seeking two Case Workers to join our team at Pinangba, Stagpole Street Drug & Alcohol Rehabilitation Unit in Townsville!

Pinangba is the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led service delivery arm of UnitingCare. The foundations of Pinangba are built from our cultural identity and strong community relationships and partnerships.

Our Stagpole Street Drug & Alcohol Rehabilitation Unit provide residential alcohol and other drug rehabilitation services predominately to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.

The Role:

As a Case Worker, you will be managing a client case load and participate in the delivery and planning of a high standard of care and support to our residents. A day in the role will see you:

  • Conduct comprehensive initial drug & alcohol assessments.
  • Develop treatment plans, counsel & support your clients to ensure individual needs are met.
  • Provide advocacy and support for clients who require the assistance of outside agencies.
  • Develop and maintain sound working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Plan, conduct and facilitate in-service training to other staff.

What you’ll need:

You’ll have a genuine passion for supporting people to overcome addiction with the following skills and attributes:

  • Cert IV in community services/social emotional wellbeing – desirable.
  • Previous case management experience ideally within a similar service.
  • Current Open QLD drivers’ licence.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • Sound computer skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of social, health and cultural issues of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Commitment to principles of Workplace Health and Safety.
