Youth Services Case Worker

Annual Salary $80,964 – $87,126 (pro rata for Part-time)

About the role

The Y WA is currently recruiting for a Part-Time Case Worker. We are seeking a skilled Case Worker, experienced in working with a diverse range of young people.

The Case Worker will engage one-on-one with young people in both educational and community environments, supporting them in positive activities in order to achieve their desired goals.  Additional support will be provided through informal counselling, referrals to more specialist agencies as required, as well as helping young people to broaden their own social networks.

If you have a thorough understanding of current issues facing young people aged 11-25, experience developing individualised case plans and an ability to engage   young people in a variety of settings including youth centers, outreach settings, schools, and events, then this role is for you!

Duties

  • Provide one-to-one case management, informal counselling, referral to additional supports, and advocacy for young people who have been referred, identified as ‘at risk’, and/or requiring additional support
  • Develop individualised case plans with the young people in a strengths-based and person-centred manner
  • Maintain case management databases, ensuring accurate documentation of casework
  • Research, monitor and contribute to social impact evaluation and continuous improvement
  • Provide support for program participants including informal counselling and making referrals to other community agencies as required
  • Foster positive relationships with local schools, providing in-reach support to young people within educational settings.

Essential requirements

  • Minimum Certificate IV in Youth Work, Community Services, or other relevant field.
  • Current First Aid and CPR qualifications or willingness to obtain.
  • National Police Clearance and WA Working with Children Check card or willingness to obtain.
  • High standard of professionalism and integrity.
  • National Police Clearance.
  • HLTAID003 First Aid Certificate.
  • Current C-class Driver’s License
