About CatholicCare NT and the Program 

CatholicCare NT provides a range of social services and programs to individuals, couples, families, community groups and schools across the Northern Territory.

Safe Houses

The Safe House provides immediate safety and support to Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) victim survivors, including children through crisis accommodation. Participants are supported to develop strategies and skills to keep themselves and their children safe, with the long-term goal of individuals and families able to live without fear of family violence. 

Children and Parenting 

The Children and Parenting program provides early intervention and preventative services and programs, using a whole of family approach to resource, educate, support and skill parents to improve developmental and wellbeing outcomes for children and families. 

About the role

The Case Worker is responsible for providing assertive case management, education and groupwork support to participants. This position has a particular focus on providing support and mentoring to Safe House staff regarding client safety and case management.

What we are looking for 

  • A degree in human services or equivalent with relevant experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including report writing and case note writing.
  • Demonstrated cultural competency, particularly in working with Indigenous people.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying early intervention and prevention activities that support the wellbeing of children, young people, and families.
  • Demonstrated ability to network effectively with other agencies to support a community approach to wellbeing
