Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Case Worker to join our Community Wellbeing Team in Alice Springs. The Case Manager will be responsible for providing trauma-informed case management support to clients across two programs: Specialist Elder Abuse Services (SEAS) and Disability Royal Commission Counselling Services (DRCCS). The successful candidate will work closely with individuals and their families to address their specific needs, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide trauma-informed case management to clients enrolled in the SEAS and DRCCS programs.
  • Conduct assessments of client needs, including risk assessments, safety planning, and goal setting, in office, in the community or at clients’ residence
  • Coordinate appropriate referrals to internal and external service providers as needed.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Community Wellbeing Team and other therapeutic staff to ensure holistic support for clients.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Engage in outreach activities within the community to raise awareness about elder abuse prevention and disability advocacy.
  • Represent RA-NT positively, foster positive relationships with stakeholders including community organisations, government agencies, healthcare professionals.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Completed or studying towards a certificate, diploma or degree in Social Work, Community Services or other related fields
  • Demonstrated professional skills working with clients: good listening skills, empathy, understanding clients’ challenges and needs of people with disability and elderly people.
  • Demonstrated capacity to engage and build positive connections to First Nations communities, organisations and individuals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, reasonable computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to work with a database.
  • Capacity and flexibility to travel to regional, rural and remote localities when required.
  • Valid NT Driver’s License.

Requirements:

• A satisfactory Northern Territory working with children check.

• A satisfactory national criminal history check.

• A commitment to our Safeguarding Children Practice and Behaviour Guidelines.
