The Role
The Residential Care and Transition Services Team currently have a Permanent Full-Time vacancy for a Case Worker SILP (Supported Independent Living Program) to join the Mercy Community team based in the South Burnett. As a Case Worker SILP (Supported Independent Living Program) in the South Burnett Team, you will be responsible for the effective coordination of every phase of casework for young people accessing the Supported Independent Living Program (SILP) with a view to support highly vulnerable young people to reach their individual goals and independence.
The South Burnett Office is based in Murgon and this role provides support to young people living in Kingaroy and surrounding areas.
To be eligible for this position you will require (Key Selection Criteria):
- 3- or 4-year tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or related discipline.
- Demonstrated practice experience in providing high-level services for young people in and out of home-care settings.
- Provide a clear, expressed understanding of the complex challenges facing families in contemporary society.
- Be available to provide rostered after hours on-call support.
- Evidence of current vaccination against Whooping Cough and COVID-19 or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
- You must hold a current Queensland Provisional Green or Open Driver’s License
- You must hold a positive notice in the Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and be able to obtain a positive Police Check and any other legislatively required personal history screening as required

This position offers a competitive salary of $67,263 – $83,486 gross per annum in line with level 3 to 4 of our Enterprise Agreement (dependent on qualifications and experience). You will also have the opportunity to increase your take-home pay by salary sacrificing and other benefits.
