About the role 

The Afterhours Outreach Program operates from 3pm – 11pm with outreach occurring from 5pm – 10.30pm. A team of three do assertive outreach by driving and doing foot patrols in various locations based on referrals and data provided by other stakeholders in the homelessness space, including the Red Cross Homelessness Hub, Community Patrol and the Council. The locations patrolled range from parks, the city and beaches including the strand when required. The team offer information and referrals and assess those in particularly vulnerable situations with the possibility of putting them into emergency accommodation if needed. 

This position will provide mobile, outreach and/or centre-based case management support to individuals and families. You will undertake case coordination and network development activities that build the capacity between providers. You will operate from a strengths based and capacity building framework to promote social inclusion, human rights, participation and consumer choice.

Shifts can include:
Monday to Friday – 9AM-5PM
Monday to Thursday – 5PM-10:30PM

Saturday – 7AM – 10:30AM

 
What you will bring 
  • Sound casework/case management experience including holistic assessment of client needs and development of case plans
  • Experience in working with marginalised people in the community
  • Experience in working competently with staff and clients from cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds with respect and humility
  • A Degree or Diploma in Social Work or Social and Community Services with post-graduate experience; or other relevant qualifications, skills and experience that demonstrate equivalence to this standard
  • A current unrestricted Driver Licence and a Working With Children Check (blue card) are mandatory requirements

This role is covered by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award – Level 4. Hourly rate from $41.53000 + casual loading + superannuation + salary packaging.
