The Katherine Women’s Crisis Centre (KWCC) is a passionate and focused, Service, working to support and maximise the safety of women and their children experiencing domestic, family and sexual violence in the greater Katherine region, Northern Territory. The KWCC team consistently works together to create a safe and caring environment conducive to healing and building self-empowerment.
KWCC is a not-for-profit organisation with programs and services aimed at preventing and addressing domestic and family violence by working with women, men, young people and children through its multiple programs.
KWCC prides itself on providing a safe, confidential environment for support, advocacy and assistance at a time when women need it the most.
THE PROGRAM
Critical Intervention Outreach Service (CIOS) supports women and children who are currently experiencing domestic and family violence to enhance their safety and live a life of empowerment.
CIOS also has a unique component of engaging with men (who use or is a victim of domestic and family violence) to help them recognize their behaviors and to support them to find ways to live more closely as a family. Supporting each other in day-to-day life and build a happy family, free from violence.
CIOS aims to enrich women’s and men’s lives by supporting their individual choices. CIOS provides the following services:
- Risk assessment and safety planning
- Domestic and family violence education
- Advocacy
- Appropriate referral pathways
- Outreach support
ABOUT YOU
If you share the philosophy that all individuals have the right to be treated with dignity, regardless of their circumstances,
And have:
- Diploma or higher education in Community Services or related field, or experience as a case worker
- Highly developed interpersonal communication skills
- Strong advocacy skills
- Ability to screen and assess risk
- Sound knowledge of domestic family and sexual violence and it’s impact on victim/survivor, children and community
- Knowledge of culturally appropriate case management support from a client-centered, strengths based, trauma informed approach.
- Have resilience, practice non-judgement, have empathy and can “walk beside” the women (and men)

The CIOS has a team of a Coordinator, 2 females and 1 Male. This vacancy is for a female team member.
Must haves:
- Current Ochre Card
- Current National Police Check
- Current Drivers License
- Be an Australian Citizen, permanent resident, or Visa with no work limitations.
