About the Program
The Aboriginal Family Preservation Program (formally Intense Family Preservation) allows Muloobinba to provide intense supports to Aboriginal Families in the Raymond Terrance, Cessnock and Maitland areas.
AFP works with vulnerable Aboriginal Families where there is identified risk of hard to Children and Young people. We worr with the parent/s as well as the children and Young poepl to address and work the areas of their lives that are contributing to the risk.
The Caseworker will work intensively with the Families for up to 15 hours a week for a 12 week period to provide support.

This position is Full Time- 38 hours per week and is based at East Maitland NSW 2323.
This Program offers after-hours on-call support and are designed to keep families together safely and have a focus on the safety, welfare, and wellbeing of the child and/or young children, in a culturally appropriate environment.

Position Requirements:
- Confirmation of Aboriginality
- Working with Children Check Clearance
- National Police Check
- NSW Drivers License
- Participate in on-call Roster
- COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate (Minimum 2 doses)
Aboriginality is an essential criteria and is authorised under Section 14D of NSW Anti- Discrimination Act 1977.
This position is classed as Child Related Employment an is subject to relevant employment screening.
Remuneration
A remuneration package will be paid in accordance with the Social, Community, Homecare and Disability Services Industry Award plus superannuation, leave loading and full salary sacrifice.
Wages can be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Demonstrated experience working in Case Management of Aboriginal Families and/or Children & Young People
- Working knowledge of the Child Protection legislation ( Child and Young Persons Care & Protection Act 1988) and how it pertains to Aboriginal Children and Families
- Possession of working towards formal Qualification in the area of Social Work, Community Services or relevant field
