About the program

The Family Preservation WSNBM program provides targeted support to vulnerable families to prevent children and young people (0 to 17 years old) from escalating into the child-protection or Out of Home Care system.

 

What you’ll do

We are looking for outstanding Caseworkers who are conscientious, reliable and motivated about making a difference.  As a Caseworker, you will be working with a team of exceptional professionals who practise within an evidenced based framework.  We are seeking staff who wish to apply their skills in the complex child protection area. Although this will be your focus, you will have to work with all members of the family unit.

You will work within the service provision guidelines and Wesley Family Preservation’s Foundations for Change Framework by maintaining a focus on child wellbeing outcomes which are managed through mandatory reporter guidelines and effective safety planning with the family.

All staff at Family Preservation WSNBM work hard to develop and maintain harmonious working relationships in an autonomous-supportive work environment where they are all trained to be the best in their field. Wesley Mission provides regular supervision, support and training for all staff.

 

Who you are

  • university qualifications in Social Work or equivalent
  • experience of working within a community services and / or child and family social work environment at an operational management level
  • demonstrated commitment to child focused practice, that involves the identification and analysis of safety and wellbeing concerns for children
  • supportive, tactful and empathetic nature with the ability to make clear judgements that promotes the rights, interests and wellbeing of children
  • culturally competent with experience working alongside CALD and Aboriginal families
  • NSW Drivers Licence and willingness to travel between 3 metro sites regularly
  • a current Working with Children’s Check (WWCC).

 

Remuneration

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award Level 5 plus super. Generous salary packaging and motor vehicle allowance available.
