Be. are currently recruiting for a Domestic Violence Caseworker to join a NfP organisation located in South West Sydney.
This role will provide outreach case management services directly to women and their children who access the service. The caseworker will work within a person-centred framework and facilitate access to information and support over an agreed period of time.
Duties:
- To provide direct case management and co-ordinated care and support for women and children.
- In consultation with eligible clients undertake holistic assessment to determine individual needs for access to relevant health and community supports.
- Based on the outcome of assessment, develop, implement, monitor and regularly review appropriate and relevant individual care plans.
- Ensure that individuals are valued and respected and that care initiatives aim to promote independence and client self-determination.
- Participate in the on-call service on a rostered basis.
About you:
- Knowledge of the impact that domestic violence has on women and children is essential
- Knowledge of the local service system and government and non-government services that are relevant to the target group
- Relevant community services qualification – Diploma level desired
- Experience in the area of domestic violence
- 2+ years of experience working with vulnerable young people and their families is desirable
- Ability to identify and respond to risk
- Understanding of Trauma-Informed Practice
- Working With Children Check
- Willingness to undergo a National Criminal History Check
- Full Australian drivers license
