About the role
CatholicCare Diocese of Broken Bay is seeking a Caseworker to provide effective case management/coordination services to clients of our Domestic and Family Violence teams to deliver therapeutic outcomes, build client capabilities, drive and promote change.
This is a max-term full -time position.
The role will require travel to client homes located in the Central Coast region.
Duties
- Provide case management/coordination to support clients in remaining separated from a violent partner.
- Provide information, support and safety planning
- Provide timely intake, triage and partner support utilising brief crisis intervention strategies.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience in the field of Domestic Violence or similar is essential.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant area (e.g.: Social Work, Welfare, Psychology, Health).
- Experience or extensive knowledge in areas of domestic and family violence or related specialist area such as mental health, homelessness or drug and alcohol.
- Understanding of domestic violence, its complexities and consequences.
- Demonstrated networking and advocacy skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage crisis or safety situations and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Knowledge of and an ability to work effectively with Police, Courts, Women’s Domestic Violence Court Assistant Scheme and interpreter services.
- A Working With Children Check and Criminal History Check.
- A NSW Driver’s Licence and insured vehicle.
