ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role will support the organisation to deliver support services within the strategic directions and program logics for the Youth Rezolutions services stream. This role will provide case management, group delivery and outreach support to young people who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness. The Youth Rezolutions team aims to decrease homelessness and increase living skills, resilience, education and training and overall wellbeing of young people 16 to 25 years of age across The Hills, Blacktown, Parramatta and Cumberland areas.

This is a diverse role with case management, groupwork delivery and outreach!

No on call or weekend work.

 

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide trauma informed and client centred case management to young people and young families. 
  • Support young people with complex backgrounds and behaviours.
  • Facilitate and develop group work programs/initiatives that align with the purpose of the service.
  • Promote a ‘risk-aware’ culture where staff proactively identify, report and address all forms of risk to clients, staff and Saints Care Ltd.
  • Adherence to Youth Rezolutions administrative and practice principles including outcomes reporting.
  • Contribute towards program development and review
  • Develop and participate in community outreach events/programs
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with various other external stakeholders (NGO’s, Schools, DCJ etc)
  • Commitment to working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Culturally and Linguistically diverse clients, communities and staff;
  • Other suitable duties as required from time to time to support the service within skill set, knowledge and scope of the role.

 

ABOUT YOU:

Essential requirements:

  • Degree qualifications in a Social Work, Psychology, Welfare or related areas
  • Experience working with and supporting young people with complex backgrounds
  • Knowledge and experience working from a trauma informed approach
  • Knowledge in child and youth development, homelessness, safety planning and youth mental health
  • Experience in delivering casework support
  • An understanding of the culture and strengths-based practices
  • Demonstrated networking and advocacy skills with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in delivering groups and engaging small and large groups
  • Experience in managing crisis situations with a risk-adverse approach

Desirable requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience in the specialist homelessness services sector
  • Trained facilitator in evidence-based youth group programs

OTHER MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

  • National Criminal History Check
  • Working with Children’s Check
  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence
  • Access to a comprehensively insured vehicle
