About the Role
The City Limits Youth Refuge is part of the Youth Services Division and offers short-term crisis accommodation for young people who have no other immediate accommodation options. While at the refuge young people are supported to obtain sustainable long-term accommodation which may include a return to family where safe and appropriate, as well as participating in living skills development including support to engage/retain their education.
The target group is young people aged 16 years to 20 years inclusive. The planned accommodation period for each young person is up to six weeks, however it is assessed on a case-by-case basis.
The Caseworker role will have a primary focus on assisting young people accommodated at City Limits to transition into secure and safe accommodation for the medium and longer term. This position will explore and identify support needs and referral options and help build on support networks, pathways, and opportunities for young people through program participation focusing on living skills, individual case management, coaching, group work and community connections.

About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Youth Work, Welfare Studies, or related fields (Diploma +)
- Demonstrated experience in providing high quality case management support with vulnerable young people and families from assessment, outcomes orientated planning through to thorough exit planning.
- Demonstrated experience, knowledge and skills relating to current issues, trends and programs relating to homelessness and specialist support services.
- Knowledge of practice frameworks including Best Interest, Advantage Thinking and Trauma Informed Care.
- Demonstrated ability to work one on one and facilitate group work/activities.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.
- Victorian Driver’s Licence
