JOB DESCRIPTION

CASUAL Female Mental Health Support Worker for the North Brisbane Region

Arafmi Ltd is seeking an experienced female Support Worker for our North Brisbane Region.

To be successful in this role, you must have experience in working with people with complex mental health needs;  have a calm personality;  be empathic and align yourself with Arafmi’s core values.  The ideal candidate will have an ethical values base aligned to building participant capacity, while supporting the participant as needed.  You will have a well-developed understanding of restrictive practices, managing and reporting behaviours of concern and implementing strategies from a positive behaviour support plan.  You will be working within a small team providing supports to an individual participant, as well as supporting a range of participants in the community.

We are looking for someone who can work 15-20 hours per week;  have their own vehicle with comprehensive insurance;  a smart phone (we use an app for rosters, reporting and communication);  and Blue /NDIS Worker Screening Cards.

Arafmi Ltd is a not for profit organisation providing support for families, carers and people with mental health needs or psychosocial disability, for more than 40 years.  We are passionate about making a difference to the lives of our clients and their families living with the day to day impacts of mental illness within our Supported Independent Living, Short Term Accommodation and Community Access programs in all of our locations across the Greater Brisbane region.
