With over 25 centres nationally, we have supported thousands of children and their families for more than 30 years. In 2021 – 2022 we provided services to 39,002 people, including over 23,000 children.

About the job…

We are seeking a Casual Therapy Assistant to join our Wooloowin team.

Our Early Education Program (EEP) is a unique pre-school educational intervention service for children who struggle to attain skills necessary to start school as a result of significant abuse or neglect. As part of this role, the therapy assistant will support therapy staff and facilitate the transportation of clients to and from the program site.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Facilitate the safe transport of children to and from the EEP program.
  • Develop positive relationships with children and their families/carers.
  • Provide support and assistance to therapy staff, across disciplines, to best meet children’s needs.
  • Therapeutically support children to transition between environments.

About you…

  • Demonstrated experience of working with children 0-5 years.
  • Openness to learning about the impacts of trauma as a consequence of abuse and neglect on children 0-5 years.
  • Confidence driving a larger vehicle (12-seater van).
  • A genuine liking for children and experience in dealing with complex behaviours.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communicational skills with both children and adults.

About the pay…

  • Position is classified Level 1.1 under the SCHCADS award.
  • Casual hourly rate is $30.61 plus superannuation.

Other Requirements….

  • Eligibility for a positive Working with Children Check in the applicable state of employment in Australia.
  • Current open driver’s licence.
  • A current valid First Aid certificate or willingness to acquire.
  • Eligibility to legally work in Australia and proof of eligibility will be requested.
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved medical exemption.
